SBF holds meeting presenting their vision for the Syrian future while the Syrian revolution begins its third year.

The Syrian Business forum held a meeting with presence of Ghassan Hito, Syrian Transitional Government Prime Minister, George Sabra, SNC president, and Mustafa Sabbagh, Secretary General of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces and Chairman of SBF

Hito started his talk by speaking about the ‘Temporary Government’ and the efforts that are being made to have this new government appeal to the Syrian people. He confirmed that the government will be composed of technocrats and will not be subject to the logic of any political quotas.

''The government will raise the morale of the Syrian people, and bring about the priorities of the people,'' Hito said. ''To achieve this, we must have the capability and competent people at the ministerial level.

Hito denied any prepared list or proposed names for any ministry. He stated that the process will begin by having people sending resumes and submitting proposed names to the National Coalition.

'' The government reference is the National Coalition,'' Hito assured the audience, considering the coalition as "mini-parliament", while the government will be at the operational and executive aspect inside Syria while the international file remains under the National Coalition control.

Beyond the Economic Borders

''Everyone is talking about a post-Assad, and ignoring the daily suffering of the Syrian people'' Dr. Khaled Khoja, member of the SBF board said, and pointed out that the Syrian regime failed inevitably, which fell from the first day, and the Syrian people are capable of rebuilding their country with gathered efforts.

Executive Director

Mazen Dauleh, CEO of SBF, introduced the vision and outlook for SBF to the audience in the meeting, ''The forum is an independent, non-profit organization established on June 6, 2012. The core of SBF is to establish an umbrella network with the largest number of Syrian businessmen and women inside and outside Syria, who are seeking to develop the Syrian economy to a brighter future, a country that will flourish and prosper through cooperation and coordination with forums, associations, and institutions that have common goals that support the Syrian revolution.

Dauleh pointed out that SBF looks to carry out all activities which support the Syrian revolution and its people while preserving their sovereignty. By doing this, SBF seeks to support real and effective ways to support and upkeep the revolution so the people to achieve their aspirations while maintaining their freedom and dignity.

Another task for SBF is cooperation and coordination with other forums, associations, and institutions that have similar economic visions and goals that support the Syrian revolution and help bring about an economic renaissance in Syria. Participation in developing the Syrian economy vision in the next stage, and doing the necessary studies and strategies, plans and ideas is also on SBF’s agenda.

The real supporter of the revolution

George Sabra, the vice president of the National Coalition and Syrian National Council (SNC) president stressed during the meeting that the dictator in Syria believed that he will remain forever, while the Syrian people are insisting to remove injustice, corruption and stand up against those who used the Syrian name against their own people.

Sabra also stated that the Syrian people live today in pride and full dignity that came from the heart of pain. ''Syria is heading towards victory which needs us all in all diversities,'' Sabra added. “We know that the last steps are the most crucial. There are two types of risks facing the Syrian revolution, the first obstacle is internal and the second is having new affiliations inside Syrian land.”

Sabra emphasized on the role of Syrian businessmen and women in the reconstruction. He, gratefully, emphasized to the businessmen’s efforts by saying "We, the coalition, know what you have done and provided, and to have our own decision we should have our national fund.”
